If you are a person who follows Christianity (per the instructions of the apostle Paul, in Romans 1, 1Corinthians, and 1Timothy, etc.), sometimes it becomes necessary to decline to attend certain events; even events of upmost importance to our loved ones. How to do this? Practicin Muslims are FORBIDDEN to attend gay weddings.
However, Christianity seems open to more “wiggle room“/interpretation. A host or hostess of a gay wedding may be inclined to accuse a non-attending Christian of bigotry. If your faith continues to “nag” you that you shouldn’t be in attendance, how do you do this? How do you explain to a very close, family, member, or friend, that the promptings of your conscience, according to the direction of your faith prohibit you from attending? It can be very challenging, difficult to explain, and you need to be prepared for the worst scenario…. A left-leaning person only needs to argue three words: “love is love!“…. The conscience – pricked Christian may need to be prepared to give a dissertation on “live and let live”, with a SUPER-SOFTENED, sugar-coated explanation of how Jesus “loved the sinner but hated the sin”. (Eg, when Jesus confronted the woman at the well, he told her that her sins were forgiven, but he didn’t follow her back to a brothel, and say, “you do you!“. He instructed her to TURN AWAY)….
